Hainamosa

Hainamosa is a rapidly-growing barrio (neighborhood) in Santo Domingo, the capital city of the Dominican Republic.  A look at Hainamosa reveals both the poverty so common to Caribbean Island nations and literally hundreds of houses under construction.  The community is also home to large government housing complexes, so Hainamosa's population growth is as explosive as its poverty is grinding.  When GEMA began working in Hainamosa, there were very few educational opportunities and few stable churches. 

GEMA has established both a growing church and a Christian school in that neighborhood.
