Things to Leave at Home !
HERE IS THE RULE: If it has sentimental value to you, leave it home.
It will be there when you get home. You can look forward to your reunion with it. It could easily get damaged, lost or stolen while in the Dominican so if you would feel bad about losing it, your best bet is to leave it!
If the item has financial value it would be wise not to bring it, like a gold watch or jewelry. A laptop and photography equipment can easily be stolen. Once its gone, its gone. I go to Walmart every year or so and buy a $10 watch that lasts quite well down there and here too for that matter. I leave my gold chronograph at home. You are not there to make a fashio statement, however in reality, you are making a long lasting impression.
There is a vault that is in a secure location in Hainamosa and we recommend you lock your wallets and your passports in it upon arrival.
